Un corso sul rapporto tra i bambini e gli schermi digitali

Cremit (Centro di Ricerca sull'Educazione ai Media all'Innovazione e alla Tecnologia – Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore) propone agli insegnanti, alle scuole, agli studenti, ai genitori e a tutti gli interessati un corso online gratuito sul tema della crescente presenza dei media digitali tra i bambini e le bambine, dalla nascita ai 12 anni.

Contenuti e finalità

Il MOOC si propone di offrire competenze teoriche e strumenti operativi per affrontare la crescente presenza dei media digitali tra i bambini e le bambine, a partire da alcune questioni sempre più attuali: il digitale sta trasformando i comportamenti dei bambini e delle bambine? Come evitare di limitarsi ai divieti o di accettare senza alcuna regolazione strumenti e dispositivi che sono sempre più presenti in tutte le famiglie italiane? Quali competenze e strumenti possono essere utili a chi lavora e si confronta quotidianamente con l’infanzia, dalla nascita ai 12 anni?

Sulla base del libro 3-6-9-12. Diventare grandi all’epoca degli schermi digitali di Serge Tisseron (2016), il corso è articolato in sei moduli settimanali e si struttura su due dimensioni complementari. Da un lato propone conoscenze e strumenti per ogni fascia di età: nido, scuola d’infanzia, primo e secondo ciclo della primaria (moduli 1-2). Dall’altro lato, identifica quattro aspetti centrali che risultano trasversali dalla nascita ai 12 anni: il senso motorio, la capacità di raccontare, il gioco e le relazioni sociali (moduli 3-6).

Iscrizioni

Le iscrizioni al corso sono aperte fino al 10 dicembre 2021.

Combinazioni e disposizioni, spazio di probabilità, probabilità condizionata, eventi indipendenti, formula di probabilità totale, formula di Bayes. Nozione di variabile aleatoria (discreta e assolutamente continua), di media e varianza, standardizzazione. Covarianza e correlazione lineare di due variabili, variabili indipendenti. Le distribuzioni binomiale, di Poisson, normale e le distribuzioni t, chi quadrato ed F. Popolazione, campioni, funzioni dei dati e relativi gradi di libertà. Intervalli di fiducia per media e per proporzione. Errori di prima e seconda specie; test su una proporzione, su una media, sulla differenza di due medie, su più proporzioni, sul rapporto di varianze; inoltre calcolo del valore “p” mediante R. Retta dei minimi quadrati, coefficiente di correlazione lineare, coefficiente di determinazione lineare. Test di dipendenza lineare in termini di rapporto F e in termini di t di Student (test di Pearson). Mediante R attuazione del test di Kolmogorov-Smirnov sulla normalità dei residui, nonché intervalli di fiducia del coefficiente angolare e della correlazione.

Although English has been the lingua franca of science for over a century, young Italian researchers often find it difficult to produce a manuscript for an international journal in a style acceptable for publication. From the point of view of the journal editor who receives the manuscript, if the English language is poor, difficult to read and understand, or includes grammar and style faults, the paper is unacceptable. In fact, it would require heavy and expensive editing before publication. What is more, a weak style of the manuscript may cast a shadow on the scientific soundness of its results and the fairness of its discussion and conclusions. On the contrary, an easily readable text, devoid of repetitions or contradictions, which presents in logical sequence the author’s findings and comments, is a great wild card to rapid publication of the work done in the laboratory or in the clinical ward. This short course, which requires a good knowledge of English, is dedicated to the technique of scientific writing, in particular in the medical and biological fields. The video lectures address the common grammatical errors of morphology and syntax that are often encountered while editing manuscripts written by Italian authors. Specific areas being covered include use of pronouns, punctuation and dangling participles. Next come specific issues of technical writing, such as abbreviations, units of measure, and choice of standard scientific terms. A video lecture is dedicated to the different types of scientific publications and the logical sequence of presentation of the work done in the sections of the article. Finally, practical examples of text editing are used to deal with finer points of style, such as how to organize the text in paragraphs, and how to avoid redundancy, elegant variation, or ambiguous phrasing.

The course aims at illustrating some examples of techniques of the CLIL methodology applied to Economics, Politics, Laws and criminal issues teaching in Italian High Schools. In particular, the course will focus on the teaching techniques in English of the following topics: factors of production, sectors of production, marketing, the marketing mix, online marketing, Parliament and the Constitution in the English-speaking countries, some comparisons between the political organization in the English-speaking countries and in Italy, some comparisons between the crime rate in the English-speaking countries and in Italy, legislation.
